Are both of the relays the same?

I have been reading all of the great ideas and work in trying to fix this and if it were me ( ) I'd stick a piece of black tape over the light, with a small hole to show that there's a light there, simply to show ignition is on. Small, so its not so distracting. If the battery is charging when headlights etc are all on then the alternator is good.  
If the drive belt ever snaps then you'd lose power steering so will know that it has happened, with or without the light.
A bodge .....certainly .....
