Added Interior and Loading lights
#1
I bought my berlingo mainly to haul my MTB. With my other car I found myself in an unlit forest car park using the interior lights to load a bike and it sucked. I knew I wanted to have lots of light for the berlingo at first I tried mechanic's battery torches they were ok be unreliable given they were battery powered, I upgraded the OEM bulbs to LED that lit up the van much better but they turned off too quick and large areas were in shadow. So I decided to add my own lights first I went cheap and bought some side markers off ebay they just glowed, I spent a few more pennys to get some of these lights;

Plenty bright, I repainted the ugly black button and re-soldered the cables with white wire and black for the tailgate. I took out the rear side pillar trim the clips at the rear of the roof to get access to feed the wires. Theres nothing to screw into the roofliner is just fabric/card then the outter skin so I used jack nuts (expanding nuts) with some heat shrink on the ends to stop it scratching the outter skin. they worked a treat I used 2 per light and  bolts +locktite, then cut down so they didn't poke through jack nuts. I finshed the wires to the rear left pillar and behind the left boot panel. The tail gate I took off the rear trim and ran a cable inside the door and through the rubber hose and inside the rear left pillar and behind the left boot panel.

The tail gate lights I fixed to the rear trim and used a 2 pin connector so removal wasn't too fussy. I should note I bought those white clips off ebay they DO NOT FIT, I reordered some blue ones from vehicleclips.co.uk and they worked perfectly (also for the boot threshold).

I had a ground and a permanent live (tow bar electrics) in behind the left boot panel so I took power from there with an in-line 5A fused to a switch which I installed in easy reach of the rear.

Think the final result looks OEM and I have interior loading as well as a lit area around the back of the Berlingo for washing/working on my bike.
