Does my van have a DPF / FAP
#1
Downstream of the turbo behind the radiator it has an enormous drum thing, much bigger than any cat I have seen - it looks like a DPF. It is quite hidden under a heat shield, however I can not see any pressure or temperature sensors either above or below it that I would associate with a DPF.

There seems to be no lights on the dash that would warn of regeneration, and I cannot find the reservoir for the additive (not entirely sure where to look)

its an 09 plate mk2 van

Any thoughts

The probable answer is 'Yes'.
I believe that all of the 1.6 Diesel turbo vehicles were fitted with a DPF (FAP)
from late 2006. My early 2006 1.6 was one of the last, apparently, not to have that
piece of junk fitted as standard.
The Older I get the Better I Was!  Cool
