Is it just me, I wonder, but does anyone else with a recent berlingo van find the radio a bit lacking (mine's 2012) ?
It's driving me mad. :brickwall: I visit Cumbria each week, driving the A66 from Penrith to Cockermouth. For a large part of that journey, Radio 4 (Yes, I know! ) is a sea of crackling, interference & up & down volume! Same again for some stretches of the M6. It seems that unless I have a really strong signal, it's struggling.
I have tried refitting the aerial and following Citroen's advice about the angle etc - all to no avail!
My Volvo (which had a heated rear window aerial) never missed a beat!
To be honest, the reception is the worst I've had in any car/van for about 15 years! So, is this something common and if so, has anyone found a fix?
I'm at the point of trying out an amplified windscreen aerial next.
All suggestions to listen to another channel will be smiled at but ultimately ignored

You have possibly a bad earth to the bodywork from the aeriel, the hole that the aeriel goes into is possibly corroded and needs cleaning up.
Failing that its a new aeriel ones with the wire wrapped around it are good , and a new cable.

Yes, I'll admit Tebay is a bit of a "Lost World" when it comes to radio - wonder how the residents manage :S I mean, the weather always seems terrible, there looks like there is about 3 hours of daylight and no radio.
Did I mention traffic noise too?
I remember reading about the Kray twins having a place there to get away from it all. Nice to see that even hardened gangsters have a sense of humour!
Sorry, I digress, yes the radio's bad in Tebay!

Gosh, corrosion after 18 months…. Hadn't considered that, but will head for the van with a deep socket n ratchet and will check that earthing.
I don't like the roof aerial anyway (some of my customers are in a large block of flats with underground parking. Always hear the aerial "tinging" on one or two girders, so have to be careful about reversing  )
Does anyone know if there's a connector for the roof aerial before it gets into the dash?
Thanks folks alut:

That's why I said possibly , its worth checking but unlikely.
More likely is the aeriel isn't powerful enough where you live , which is where an upgrade will be required

I won't bore you with the long and sorry performance of trying to get an amplified windscreen aerial to work! Suffice to say the windscreen aerial had the "normal" coaxial connector and Citroen use the "Fakra" connector in the Berlingo....So it wouldn't connect without a £14 adapter....
Hmmmm... Fakra! :censored:
I've now removed and refitted my original aerial, there was no corrosion, but it's tighter now, so we'll see if there's any improvement on my next foray to Cumbria!

Looks like you might have to splash the cash and install a more powerful aeriel and cable.

All radio reception in my 2012 is hit and miss with constant retuning required.
Eventually I give up and revert back to the usb drive Ive loaded up with music and recordings.
But all the works vans are poor too.
It is on my to do list.
But not right at the top

Well, I spent a bit of time on the old Berlingo this weekend and I reckon I've improved the radio reception…

Ok, so now I seem to have an MPG problem…..
