Cruise Control

Ok, thinking of getting cruise control fitted to my XTR, but citroen have quoted me £176 at JA Rigby in chorley (citroen), and citroen preston (lookers) have said £133 but they have never done it before- help needed!
from what I have read I`ll neeed a few thingd;
Cruise Stalk,
Clutch switch (if not already fitted)
Someone to activate it
Any ideas where to go from here?

Aside from clutch and brake sensors you'll need something different for the throttle pedal if you want the speed control to work - but I'm not sure what it's called. I believe there is a thread or two on the retrofit. Have a search.

TBH for £133 I would get the dealer to do it, then if there are any problems they will have to fix it.

I have already done this on mine

I had already bought a Lexia/Diagbox so the activation was 'free' - I have done a guide on how to activate it

The switch, I bought off ebay for £15
The one you are looking for looks like either of these and they are used on Citroens and Peugeots

Only Cruise Control

Cruise Control plus Speed Limiter

There are two types - one with just Cruise Control and the other has Cruise Control plus Speed Limiter
If only wanting just Cruise Control, both types will work with the Cruise, but unless you change your throttle pedal, the speed limiter won't work

The throttle pedal is about £100 I believe

Fitting the stalk is pretty straight forward, it just slots in, but you have to cut out a rectangle shape out of the cowling - most of the cowlings have it already marked where to cut

Thanks for that! Greta stuff....I`m just after the cruse control really- not bothered about going into all the speed limiter stuff.
I dont suppose anyone knows the part number of the stalk I need?- seems to be a couple of different numbers floating around on ebay items etc....

There appear to be two part numbers
6242 Z8 - this is just for the stalk
16097645 80 - this appears to be a kit, which I assume contains all the documentation on how to fit

Here is the original Citroen documentation from the kit

There does not however, appear to be a differentiation between a stalk that is 'just cruise control' and 'cruise control with limiter'
Perhaps only the one with the limiter is now sold by Citroen

In Sweden the Citroen-dealer won't retrofit cruisecontrol.
So the forum really comes in handy for me...
