OBD2 hand held scanner tool

Hi all,

As I can not get my diagbox to work (the program works but not the tool) I was wondering if anyone out there has used a hand held device or a iPhone OBD2 app or wifi obd2 to read the diagnostic codes.

I have a few options to me, one being a hand held scanner, wifi obd2 or iPhone app.

Most OBD2 scanners will now read Citroen fault codes with information about the code, they can also clear fault codes and print the data plus do live readings or so the ads say.

I use an app called Torque on my Galaxy S4 and a bluetooth dongle that plugs into the socket under the dash. Works great for reading fault codes or monitoring motor functions in real time. There are a number of bluetooth dongles available.

I have seen a scanner on Amazon that reads all cars but its 200 bucks but if I buy a new car it will work on it as well. Does your app and dongle cover all cars or just a select few. Also where do you buy the dongle from, is it a reputable company or someone on ebay

I use the PLX bluetooth dongle - scroll down this page. Google it. There are a number of souces - I think I used flea bay and it was about €85 if memory serves. It was a while ago.
