Mk3 2009 van 1.6 diesel starter motor removal.
#1
Following from lack of starting issues, im now trying to replace the starter motor. Have managed to remove the two from the back of the motor, but according to the manual, theres a third bolt. Anybody know how and where the thing is. Thanks.

It's from the opposite side of the gearbox, same size bolt and head tho, remove the air filter inlet pipe work and it's down the back

Finally got it. Remove the following just to get to the top bolt:

Nearside plastic inner wheel arch cover,
Outer plastic battery cover,
Battery,
Outer plastic battery tray,
Battery tray,
All air inlet plastic pipework,
Air filter housing, (splits in two before removal)
Brake fluid reservoir,
I think its the fuel heater (square black plastic boxy thing to RH of engine)
Fuel heater mounting bracket,

If you manage to peer in from above, the remaining cap head is just visible facing the opposite direction from the two lower bolts you managed to undo 3 days ago. Good old Citroen. What an absolute heap of rubbish, which i wont be buying again.....

For the benefit of anyone reading this, you don't need to take anymore out than the air filter pipe work in that list, I've done loads of these, no need to remove most of that list, disconnect the battery but just move the air inlet pipe work and stick your hand down... Why did you remove the wheel arch liner if you don't mind me asking?

The plastic boxy thing is the fuel filter for those reading, I guess I also have a tool box that's well stocked as well Wink
