Another one in these times of austerity; this
site shows you the cheapest fuel prices in your area. Once you have signed up it will alert you on a daily to monthly basis.

Interesting link. Just for comparison CH normal diesel averages £1.11 at current conversion rates and Shell V-Power diesel is £1.23 at my local Shell station.

Which exchange rate are you using for your comparison, as this has changed significantly in the last couple of years? Compared to France where I spend a fair amount of time, the regular diesel is more expensive in the UK. Here, there is less of a difference between the regular and premium though, which seems to be the same story in Switzerland. On top of fuel, I am paying £180 in tax (which is variable from zero to £950 depending on CO2 emissions) just to add to the pain

I was using the exchange rate from UBS, current as of yesterday when I posted. Fuel prices are much cheaper in CH than in FR or DE. I regularly drive thru France and Germany. The prices I converted are in the Basel area. At petrol stations just across the border from FR and DE there are usually queues of French or German cars filling up at CH prices. I checked with UBS this morning and the prices are even slightly cheaper, £1.09 and £1.22 respectively.

On my Calais 'beer run' a couple of weeks ago the French diesel price was just under £1/litre compared with UK price of about £1.22 at moment.
