Engine size
#1
I'm a bit puzzled....
Looked at my new cover note and noticed that the engine size was wrong. Phoned the brokers, who told me my engine didn't exist! :brickwall:
It's an 07 600HDI x 75, with a capacity of 1598cc. Is this engine just a bored-out 1560? Parts suppliers don't recognise it, either. Any explanation much appreciated!

Update: Insurers have it on their database - thank goodness!
My new Haynes manual doesn't mention it... Sad

Your "new" Haynes manual may well be the old one.I bought the new manual about 2 yrs ago & it covers the 1.6 HDi.

There's two editions of the Haynes manual for the Berlingo.

You want the one with catalogue number 4181, which covers 1996 to 2010 (P ot 60 registration)

But the 1.6HDi should be 1560cc.
So if it's 1598cc, it's either a mistype, or someone did a whole lot of work on it.
(taking it from 1560 to 1598 would probably require a custom head gasket.)

In fact, if this has been tinkered with, the seller really should have informed you about it as it impacts heavily on servicing.
