Is boot supposed to lock with central locking?
#1
As topic states, my boot doesn't lock off of the central locking. It seemed to always be open when the car was open, but I've not had the car long and never checked it when the car was locked, therefore it could have just been unlocked ever since I've had the car?

It locks with the key. I recently had the battery disconnected for a few days and may have locked/unlocked the car off of the remote with locks having been operated manually.

The back doors on my van lock on the central locking, perhaps you need a new servo, not a massive job.

Hi John, thanks for the reply.

My back doors are locking fine, it's my boot (tailgate?) that isn't locking but I'm trying to establish if it's meant to or not. 2004 multispace.

My Mk2 locked ALL doors via central locking as does my Mk3

Yes central locking locks all the doors including the tailgate.

Would kinda defeat the object if the tailgate didn't lock....

You need to do some fault finding I'm afraid.

Check the tailgate linkages/electrics before spending your hard earned loot.Confusedalut::thumbsup:

Thanks guys.

Don't worry, I certainly won't be parting with any cash in a hurry. I spent an hour fiddling with one of my rear sliding door mechanisms today rather than spending any money, it paid off! I'll report back with what the issue was tomorrow or the next day.
