Hi guys,
Need some help,
Ive recently bought a 2008 1.6 Hdi 75bhp mk2. The van has only covered 68k miles, has been well serviced and looked after. Was used as a car rather than a van by previous owner.
Driving on motorway the other day, van cut out, oil light came on. Got the van towed home, now the van wont start. The van still has oil in it and battery fully charged.
Anyone any ideas before i take it to a garage and get charged fortunes to diagnose the fault.
Any help appreciated.

You could whip the top cambelt cover off and check it still has an intact belt with all it's teeth on it...
Daft one... It's not got a dodgy fuel gauge? Wouldn't be the first new owner car that's stopped and ran out of fuel... It's really hard to diagnose without actually seeing the vehicle, so much stuff that will stop a van running...
Oil light will come on if the engine cuts out, mm on running means nom oil pressure...

Problem is there's loads of reasons why its cut out.
Did the eml come on when it cut out?

The engine management light will come on if it cuts out as the ignition is on but engine off... Best bet is to get it plugged in and see what codes are in it, fingers crossed there will be a stored code

Cheers guys, seems their could be a host of things so the van is now with a garage. Should find out tomorrow what the full extent of damage is.
