Hi griff, mine is petrol
Hi Kokain
There is no way that my filter will come out as the strap is holding it very tight. There seems to be a little slot where a special tool goes to undo it or would a flat head screw driver suffice

Hi PitPan,
Haynes says (and photo shows) "Release the tab of the restraining strap and slide filter out of its housing". Perhaps it needs some release fluid to free it. I suppose if you are renewing the filter anyway a little gentle persuasion won't hurt as long as you don't damage the bracket.

Hi griff,
Yes I have the book as well but this strap is of the peculiar type it's not straight forward to undo unless I'm being a complete twit and do not see how to release it
I shall investigate some more tomorrow morning
