It's Gone!!
#1
My Blingo has been back at Colliers for five weeks while they repaired it yet again.
I've owned it for 13 months out of which they had it for 2+ months for repairs (read bodges).
Luckily all covered under the warranty. Today I went over and told them I didn't want it back. They gave me £3.5, slightly over bottom book which I was happy with. I had to buy another car last month as no courtesy cars were available, a 2001 1.4 Renault Scenic and to be honest it would knock the Blingo into fits. Quiet, no rattles or clonks, a working heater and lots of room. Yes a little bit slow but not too bad for the size of the engine. Down side is no sunroof or aircon but for 850 quid I can live with that. And there's loads of cheap spares on ebay! The Berlingo could have been such a fantastic car with a bit more development and the 2.0 diesel but Citroen is now the budget arm of Peugeot and I spose costs are kept down. I might still try and buy a nice Mk II with a/c, I should have done that in the first place.

Thanks Jed. What really pees me off is had they done the job correctly in December none of this would have happened and I would be a happy bunny still enjoying the motor. But because they only did half the job, as Lighty correctly stated it is doomed to failure. No doubt bean counters in charge keeping the costs down, so they ended up doing part of the job again. So frustrating. If I did my job like that I'd be sacked but it seems to be standard practice for so many companies in the motor trade. I just feel sorry for the next unsuspecting person who buys it cos I bet the job still hasn't been done properly. Such a brilliant concept with a reputation ruined by a filter no bigger than your fingernail. The mind boggles.

The old Scenic is still doing stirling work. We went to Llandudno in it last week for a few days. Now it's had a blow out it feels even more spritely. I'm pretty sure I'll end up with a MkII 2.0 diesel sometime. Will have to have aircon though and modutop.
