Hi All
Im a newbie on here so please be gentle with me.
I am attempting to do the clutch on my neighbours van, a 1.9D Berlingo Van (2003) and all was going great till I had to remove the o/s driveshaft.
I have spent 4 hours trying to remove it but it just wont budge. The n/s one literally fell out. It is the longer driveshaft that is split into 2 sections that is the problem.
It basically goes through a tie rod/mount which has a bearing in it. The bearing appears to be siezed in here! I have slackened off the two 11mm headed bolts and turned them 90 degrees so as the bearing will clear it but it made no difference.
Exasperated I thought I would remove the entire mount and go from there, but as the solid shaft is going straight in the gearbox and the mount is located by dowels it makes it impossible to remove said mount without stuffing the gearbox.
Please tell me someone has come across this problem before as im completely and utterly at the end of my tether.
All suggestions welcome (Inc dynamite!!!!)
Thanks People
Wayne
