Roof bars

Hi. Have just got a new Berlingo with the Modutop in which the roof bars can be turned to go across the roof. In the handbook it says that each bar should not exceed 35 kg. does that mean that if I fixed a roof box onto the bars in this position would the limit be 35 or 70 kg?. It also says that if you fit roof bars onto the original roof bars you have a limit of 75kg. I don't really want to fit bars onto bars if i can help it as it will be high enough as it is. Any recommendations appreciated

Depends what you want to carry.

The max load is 75 kilos on the modutop bars - distributed evenly. If you want to carry more, you will have to get other bars that fit into the mounting points on the roof. This has been discussed on the Forum with various makes recommended. try a search
