I found out today that the nearside rear door on my 2005 2.0l Diesel Desire is not locking or unlocking with the central locking. The manual lock is working so I can secure the car from the inside but the central locking from the fob or internal button won't shift the lock on that door - it stays as you left it (locked or unlocked).
Is there anything simple that could have gone wrong or is this a costly fix? Thanks :-)

The actuator might have failed.
If you take the door panel off you should see the actuator working when you press the central locking button.

Ok this is bizarre... I had the coolant temperature sensor changed on Thursday - and the door lock has now started working again.... I have no explanation! :-)
