Best way to lift/stiffen the rear end
#1
I,v just bought a lightweight caravan which i tow with my 2006 600kg 1.9D van, it sits abit low imo, whats the best, most cost effective way to lift it, bigger wheels, stiffer springs, spacers, or is there some other way, i can manage as is but it would be better slightly higher i think, cheers.

If it's not hitting the bump stops I wouldn't worry about it just don't exceed the maximum nose weight for your van.
So where does this bit go then ?

You must make sure noseweight is correct, guess it's only 50/70kg???? (but find out) ! so should still be level , make sure your tow ball is correct height, heavier springs will help to bring it level if you carry stuff in van too.

meant to say go on some caravan forums - help will be there. Years ago "airjackers" were good, I use airbags inside the rear springs of my disco kits about £120 but don't know if they do them for berlingos. get googling

Berlingo uses torsion bars and dampers so airbags or spring assisters will be no use. You could look for coil over shock absorbers with assorted spring rates to help with the load but after market conversions are expensive.

is as above,........just looked at mine, no adjustment either. I guess the 800 van has stronger torsion bars, prob cheap to buy from a breakers but could be a knack to fitting them
