Temp Battery Exchange

Hi all,

Relating to my previous post where I reported suspected battery failure, can I temporarily use a different size of battery to get me on the road again?

The battery that came out of my Mk1 1.9D Berlingo was an 067 66ah 620 cca model. Can I get by with a 44ah 360cca one for a short period? Will it have enough power to crank the old diesel engine?

Well, the cca is a bit over half of what the original is so I'd expect a problem cranking when it's a wee bit nippy outside. If it fits I'd say it's worth a try. Also, if/when the motor does start be sure to measure the voltage across the terminals to determine if the alternator is charging or not,

Put the battery on see how it work's as 3rensho said when it get's nippy you mite have problem's you can get a the right battery delivered to your door next day for about £40/ £45 so see how it goes
