Fitting new speakers ; but which wire is pos? The berlingo wiring is numbered 1 and 2. No.2 wire is white and No.1 wire is a light brown colour but i can't see a pos or neg anywhere.

Does matter to get speakers in phase, as long as brown wire and white wire go to the same corresponding tag on the speakers. Both speakers need to be pushing out or in at the same time otherwise there will be a downgrading in sound as one side tries to negate the other. I know this sounds daft but it is a well known fact among hi-fi and audio afficianados...

Andy is right. The speakers must be in phase or the sound is not so good. If they are out of phase that is basically the way that noise cancelling systems work.

Ah well, you learn something new everyday. As long as my radio makes a noise apart from static I'm happy.
