They are not any better but for some reason the Citroen / Peugeot vehicles do not suffer from the same rate of premature DMF failure like Vauxhall and Ford's do.
I have seen the 1.6HDI's fitted to the Citroen group stuff do well over 100k and are still fine. This compares to 30 - 60k in the Vauxhalls / Ford's and they are rattling their heads off!

I have a 2010 1.6 HDi L2 van, and I was told by my Citroen dealer that only the larger vans have the DMF ie. the Despatch and upwards. My van has done 311,000 miles and I had the clutch changed at 275,000 miles or thereabouts (even though it was not slipping), as a precaution because the gearbox was coming out for repairs anyway. The garage that did this work for me, made no mention of my van having a DMF either, but had pre-warned me that a DMF would mean £££'s extra for the work should they find that one was fitted.
