2000 1.9d wouldn't start

Hi all new to this site so first post !! After driving into town(approx 5miles) stopping 3 or 4 times to pick bits up I arrived at work went in realised I had forgotten something and went to go get it but when I went to start her up she wouldn't go, she turned over fine but wasn't firing, I kept trying and she just wouldn't go I did notice that the coil and handbrake light came on but the water or oil didn't neither did the petrol gage move as it normally does. I left it for an hour and tried again and she went first time no trouble just like she always has. Anyone shed any light on It ? I know she's old but she's never missed a beat for me. Thanks in advance !!

Check the obvious first.Fuel reaching injectors?Filter blocked? Cut off relay breaking down when hot? Good luck.

Yea I thought that but it has run fine ever since so I'm not sure what I could check for I just know that the one time I need it to start first time she won't ! Thanks for ur reply
