Mk2 door mirror repair
#1
Just bought a 2003 Multispace which needs some bodywork tidying up.

Both door mirrors have the back shells taped up with gaffer tape. It looks like the shells have broken off the metal chassis underneath.

Can the shells be repaired or is it a new complete mirror? If they can be repaired how are they removed?

My mirrors have the colour coded backs to them. Can these be reused on a replacement mirror? If so how are they removed?

ello Rich u ok ?,i bought my lingo (03) about 3 months back ,and the outer black edging was damaged on the wing mirrors and i insisted he repair them before i paid for the car,and he did in all fairness,so i am assuming they can be stripped and repaired.hope this helps

They just clip in place. If slightly damaged they can be re-used on mirrors with non-detachable back by sanding down any projections etc and glueing in place. I used silicone bath sealant on mine after being recommended and it sticks like the proverbial to a blanket.....

I have just ordered a replacement for my 2006 Berlingo. This site was the cheapest I could find £35 Smile . I went for the right hand manual in matt black and I will stick the existing blue cover panel on using your sealant idea! cheers.
