[Filters & Oil] which oil

Hi guys getting a bit panicky about the oil for these engines what is the best / recommended oil for a 2011 1.6 hdi citreon belingo engine I have bought Total Quartz INEO 5W-30 Motor Oil. is this ok or should i use a fully synthetic oil - which one help please.    and should i check the turbo filter on the oil change. if so where is this? Thanks guys

I'm confused as they didn't make a 2003 1.4 HDi Berlingo..

The Total Quartz INEO ECS 5W-30 is perfect but any oil that meets the PSA B71 2290 specification is correct. I think most of the major manufacturers make one if you have a preference.

Thanks guys. it sounds like a turbo feed pipe and banjo bolt check is a good idea too is this an easy job for some one like me that only has the minimum amount of tools - no pit or lift access etc

Ive not tried strainer check yet, but intend to do it. To find it the easiest way is to locate the oil feed on the turbo. The turbo is right in front of you when you open the bonnet, and the oil feed is the pipe attached at its middle point. Follow that back down and you will see it curve away and connect on the engine block with a similar attachment to the one at the turbo. The fitting is called a banjo fitting and the bolt through its centre is a banjo bolt. The strainer is inside the banjo bolt at the engine block. There are two types of strainer, the later one having a larger mesh area so should take longer to block. Whether you fancy doing it will be obvious when you take a look. I don't think its too technical, but will be a bit fiddly and your radiator will need a bit of protection while you're messing about down there. A torque wrench would be worth borrowing for retightening the banjo bolt. If you're unsure then a garage could do the strainer along with an oil change . There is a manual for the later (B9) Berlingo on this site, I think in "How to" section, giving some detail under turbo replacement.
