Berlingo.org Hacked
#1
The German Berlingo forum, http://www.berlingo.org, was the victim of a hacking attack that badly damaged the forum. It is being transferred to a new server with new forum software and is expected to be off the air for a few days. The hacker had obtained complete read and write access to that forum. I hope this one is equipped with all the latest bells and whistles.

I trust this site just wanted to mention their problem. Password salting is pretty common, at least in my (Unix) world. Seems strange to me that someone would attack a site as innocuous as a Berlingo site.

Because they can....Angry
The last three forums that I have been involved with as a moderator have all been hacked and vandalised.
The MT-01 forum owner, a RN computer expert has barred all Russian, Chinese and Turkish access. Seems to have worked.
