Berlingo has issues!
#1
I've had my high mile(136K) 60 reg multispace for two weeks now its been in dry dock with the dealer for a week of that with crank/gearbox oil leaks so not a good start! I picked it up this afternoon now the temp gauge goes up and down a bit and theres a whiring sound (goes away if the clutch is dipped) from the gear box, so the question is is this a forlorn hope?

The whirring noise that goes away with clutch depressed is a symptom of gearboox input shaft bearing wear.

Thanks, temp only goes up to 90 then drops down to around 85 with the heater on this morning it ran without too much movement once warmed up

Which engine do you have?
(and is there AC or not?)

Some models have specific gotchas and problems regarding cooling...
The 1.4i for example require you to jack up the front lefthand corner when bleeding air from the cooling system.
