Engine oil

hi all I have been looking around to see what engine oil I should use ? I have a berlingo multi space 1.9 D 2005 so far I have seen that some people are useing 10x40 15x40 but I was told that I should get 5x40 synthetic can anybody tell me if this correct ?. and what your view`s are on this.

10x40 seme synthetic £10 5ltrs at asda got some today and full synthetic £20 5 ltrs

Is it there own brand stuff?

Used to get Texaco Havoline from morrisons nice and cheap but stopped doing it.

Stick with 10w40 semi for the 1.9d, anything of a higher grade is just wasted money.

Just put this in mine.
£28 for 5 litre.
Was recommended to me by a local company who use it in their van fleet.

yes this is asda own brand but dont no hoo puts it in bottel for them

hi its called car lube from macro`s not sure of the price but I do have 4 ltr`s left from my previous diesel, but looking on the forum it did say 5x40 was a good oil to use if price is not a factor, I was told that a lot of fleet vehicle`s use it so I think that I will give it a go.
