Hay guys, I have an issue which I thought would be a simple fix. Berlingo mk1 2002,
For some reason it seems hard to turn right than it does to turn left. Tyre pressure are all correct and tracking has been done. You can turn left with 1 finger but slightly harder to turn right also takes a little longer to straighten up after a right hand bend.
What I think to be the power steering pump has a clear pipe coming off it which I can see 1 or 2 bubbles in it. Would air in the system have such symptoms on driving?? If so how do you bleed it??? M.o.t due in 3 weeks hope it's not a big mechanical problem.

Hi James,
I don't think what you see is the power steering pipe due to the pressures involved . They will be reinforced or metal pipes. It may be the fuel pipe you see.
The stiffness will more than likely be caused by seized/tight joints in the suspension.

Sometimes it is convenient to use the services of a motor garage.
You have three weeks before the MOT is due so having ensured the silly stuff like bulbs wipers etc are good just place the vehicle in for the MOT now. It might highlight any steering issue for you which would save a lot of hassle. Also if the vehicle was to fail for some other reason you'd still have time to sort it out.
Try swapping front tyres onto the rear, could sort the steering for you.
Have a look for a damaged / dented rim as this may throw off the tracking equipment depending where on the wheel it is positioned.

What colour is the PAS fluid? If it's not red, drain & refill.Look for metal flecks in the old fluid.
