Roof rails
#1
Hi all.
I have a 53 model Berlingo MPV that does not have roof rails (not sure if they are called that but they are usually black plastic coated rails that run front to back, parallel on the roof and you fit roof bars onto them). On the roof of the car there are three clamps built onto the roof each side that I assume would connect roof rails but I don't know for sure.
Essentially, I am looking to retrofit some roof rails onto the roof so that I can use a top box when I go away for weekends. I need to know if I can fit roof rails via these clamps and, if so, how?
I also need to know if there are model variations that will simply not fit.
It is my plan to scour scrapyards and try to find a scrapped Berlingo with roof rails to use as a donor.

Any help and advice will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Bubble you need a set of bars that go across the roof, The fittings on the roof are there to clamp the bars to in different positions. You could get a set of aftermarket bars by thule or some other company or look out for a factory set from Peugeot or citroen. They come up on ebay now and again and forum members sell old sets on here now and again.
Cant find a picture yet so you know what you are looking for.
Here you go have a look at this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Citroen-Berlin...27fc37fd10
Zoom in on the picture and these bars are genuine citroen bars.
Are we there yet????? Huh

Thank you for that response. I am a bit gutted that I have to have that style TBH but , such is life I guess.
I will have a ring round local scrap yards to see if anything like that turns up.
Thanks again

When you find the roof bar's for your model form a scrappy or ebay Citroen one's that is you will find they will fit lengthways and across the roof so you will only need one set  Smile
