My dippy keeps popin up from its fixing in the sleeve, giving a false reading on start up that there little oil in the engine, have added plumbing tape but it stll is doing this! any idea's?

IIRC shouldn't there be an O ring near the top of stick? Bingo's not here so can't check mine. If there is an O ring is it old & perished or there at all? Is the dipstick tube mishapen? Do you have inreased crankcase pressure?

Check the engine cover isn't loose knocking the dipstick, did it it on mine.

i will remove the cover today, to see if this makes a difference, what would cause to much pressure?
