Insurance with modifications...inc bull bar.
#1
Hi to those with bull bars, tinted windows, tow bars, alloys please note these are all now classed as mods to your vehiecal. Just spent few days preparing for renewal of insurance. After disaster with my last insurance, insure, who use advantage insurance and heavy cost of mods with them I shopped around. Finnaly got a good price from Grove and Dean, all my mods inc bull bar, with courtesy car, full breakdown, european cover, protected no claims, and legal support all for £312.00. Most quotes with my mods came to 7-800.00 They are Highway which is part of liverpool and victoria.
Hope this helps some of you, oh and that also included my recent little reverse into a wall in June costing £600. My excess is also only £100 total. Nil Voluntary.

I have found that Admiral (multicar) are quite good with mods and sensibly differentiate between those that affect performance against those that are cosmetic/practical.

The general rule seems to be anything that wasn't on the car when first built is a "mod" and should be declared. It just isn't worth the risk of trying to save a few quid, or thinking that it wont matter, against the possibility of having your claim rejected or picking up the bill from a 3rd party.

If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something.
