Hi Rotbox it all depends what engine you have to when the cambelt needs changing. It is best to change the water pump at the same time as it can save time and money if it goes later.
Are we there yet?????

was looking at a 1.9d berlingo to buy the guy didn't know when cambelt was done though, I'm guessing to have cambelt kit and a water pump done is going to cost me @ £250ish?

I have a 16i diesel engine and have mine changed every 70,000 Kilometres. (Thats equal to 45,000 / 50,000 miles)
Its a disaster if the cam belt fails so change it and the wheels and pullies etc.
I drive my engine very gently very little high speed revs and steady driving, so the wear is not so aggressive over the life of my car. I intend keeping mine for about 20 years, so its worth changing the important bits of the engine as per Citreon advise.
Regards Bill
Opps..! Did I say that..!

Cambelt change interval for 1.9D is 80k miles. You should use full kit including waterpump.
