At Last!!!!

I got me money back from that nasty man who sold me a duffer (57 plate 1.6 hdi 52000m). Bit of a result there :woop: :woop:.
Now that I've been bitten on the arse once, I need a bit of advice.
Bearing in mind I do courier work, which do I go for...
2.0 hdi/1.6hdi
Would high mileage be a concern with FSH, or do I go for the lowest milage I can find. Van shouldn't be any older than 06.
My mate bought a 1.6 hdi with 130,000 miles and it runs as sweet as a nut, but I have a feeling I won't be that lucky Confusedcratch:.
What's the things I should look-out for, as I don't want to be doing any of this :brickwall: :brickwall: again.
Still got the lumps on my head from last time Big Grin.

Weel done for getting the refund that you were clearly due.

Personally I'd say the 2.0, but I am a bit biased. Whilst it is older technology it has been proved over time, that's not to say the 1.6 isn't as good, it seems a little more sensitive.

Mileage versus price is always a compromise. the 2.0 should be good for 250k looked after properly, it's the bits around it that need replacing as the mileage increases. That's what made my XUD Xantia uneconomic to keep. Suffice to say that FSH is a must. I treat a stamped book with a degree of scepticism, but if it's backed up by receipts for work carried out or parts replaced then so much the better.

Things to look out for are the same with most vehicles mechanically and the same applies to the bodywork. I would be very careful and make sure that there are no electrical problems with any of the equipment. Pay particular attention around the central locking, lights, wipers, indicators etc. Make sure that all the warning lights illuminate when you switch the ignition on and then extinguish as they should.

Good luck.
