snow all round me, still stuck, no replacement wheelguard nut yet so no chance of changing to m+s tyres yet. I live at 1000ft so 4x4 is only way at moment. Thankfully other half got 4x4 so we can get out.
never ever buy Mcguard locking wheel nuts for alloys, most expensive and insurance approved but crap company to deal with....
Pete.
p.s. maybe I should have bought that landrover instead of berlingo? Just couldnt face max of 28 mpg. most of time......but then again better than being bloody stuck.

"Emergency locking wheelnut removal tools" are fairly easy to get hold of such as from Amazon

for around £25. I would think that Halfords sell them too. It does make locking nuts a bit of a joke when you can by a simple thing to remove them. If you Google "how to remove broken Macguard locking wheel nut" you will see that you are far from alone! Good luck!
2005 Berlingo Multispace 1.6i Desire (Iron Grey)

If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something.

well well well , the replacement whell nut lock came today , only 3 weeks ......and you guessed it .....it chewed up again. I made sure it was well onto locking nut and slowly applied the pressure to release locking nut and wooopppsssss again it just chewed up the bits inside.
What absalute crap Mcguard stuff is. On line on many forums it said they were and now I can back it up.
Now I need to get them odd with a tool, or try garages once I can get off this snowy mountain side.

Moral of the story......

NEVER BUY MCGUARD LOCKING WHEEL NUTS.....
