Radio tuning to static...

Possibly a bit of a funny one... I listen to the radio quite a lot in my 2009 vtr, and recently it's developed the annoying habit of apparently randomly 'dropping off' and tuning to static. Once it's done it, it will only play static, no matter what frequency it's tuned to and the only way to cure it is to switch the ignition off and on again, until it does the same thing again.

Anyone else had this? Any idea of a cure? Not the end of the world but it's flipping annoying.

Perhaps the valves or the cat's whisker need replacing !!!

Hi Fortunateson09.
I had a similar problem on my 2008 Berlingo, where the volume would randomly get louder and louder!!
I replaced the radio remote stick (by the steering wheel), which was quite cheap and easy to do if you are handy.
Problem solved!

If you're getting static at least you know some part of it is working!
I HATE my berlingo radio. The reception is rubbish and the signal drops out more than any other vehicle I've owned in decades, despite much faffing about!

As for a remote control. Perhaps the following may help.....
