Tow Bracket. No search result for this. 

How easy is it to fit a basic towing bracket to suit a basic flat bed trailer, approx. 3.5M length, to carry securely a 3M inflated dinghy? Approx. weight 35kg. Would I need a Light board or just Number plate for that length of trailer. Braking connection?   '06 Berlingo 1.6 Hdi Van. Short distances (under 5 miles).

I fitted a tow bar to my Berlingo, no drilling required, it uses existing holes in the chassis rails. I did remove the bumper to make fitting easier. You need to fit electrics for lights, you know it makes sense, it's just a pain working out which wire relates to which light. You need trailer brakes on anything over 750kg, but there is nothing extra to fit to the towbar.

JohnM, thanks, info on tow bar and fitting tips would be greatly appreciated. 750kg. Is that trailer plus load, I assume. Lights not vital as this is a summer pursuit and 5 Miles to 10 miles round trip.

Have a read of this page http://www.ntta.co.uk/law/law/identifica...lates.aspx and also you need to be aware of the vehicles max towing weight. If your trailer blocks any lights of the towing vehicle it will need lights and don't forget a number plate. You don't want to be rammed from behind because they could not see you were stopping/turning or what ever. Then again you could do arm signals
