The trick to fitting automatic clutch cables.

Hi all, Is the a knack to fitting automatic clutch cables?

Yesterday I thought I would just take the old one out and check it over,
It took ages to get it back in the clamp over the engine side,
I ended up pushing the spring part together, but can't do that on the new one!

So whats the best way to get the cable to extend to its longest length?

It did not help that one of the bolts on the battery plate/holder has seized, so I did it all without taking the battery part out!

Has anyone replaced the clutch cable without taking the battery holder out, the new one looks like it should just clip in?

Any ideas welcome.

Did it, it's not that hard once the battery stuff is out the way.
Connected the end near the peddle then attached the peddle then the engine mount, then pull then end hard and slip in the socket.

I struggled so much yesterday.
Must be the Heat!
