I have just bought a low milage 03 2lt t.hdi, I Used a snap-on solus pro scanner to check for stored fault codes or current faults
it has a code listed as e.c.u.cooling system interrupted, I'm a mechanic not an auto spark there was also a eco setting warning on the dashboard I Assume this to be the limp home setting after a fault has developed any help would be appreciated as Ihave no technical data whatsoever for this vehicle .

Hi Edward from memory the eco warning on the centre display comes up when you have the radio or other electrical items on with the ignition on but the vehicle not running and it shuts electrics down so as not to drain the battery. It should clear when you start the vehicle. Cant help with the fault code but im sure someone will come along with the answer.
Are we there yet?????

cheers yes the eco warning light is gone, but when I rechecked the ecu it came up with code P.O.483 engine cooling fan rationality check. I spoke to the Snap-On dealer about a code explanation chart but he has no idea how to get through the gobbledygook speak either as there is no plain English Lit. booklet available.
