Which polish best to hide minor paint damage for dark metallic grey 2005 Berlingo?
#1
My 2005 2.0 HDi Berlingo is starting to show its 90000 miles and has suffered a number of door dings and similar paint scuffs that are sadly part of modern car ownership (when did the rest of the world stop being bothered about damaging someone else's car?).

The dark metallic grey (they didn't do black in 2005) was a great colour but there doesn't seem to be a colour match polish to match - any hints on what is best - black or silver seem to be the only choices?

I'm trying to hold off the need to buy some touch up pant which would be a horrible job on the deeply lacquered metallic finish (I'm going non-metallic next time so I can get back to using T-Cut :-) !).

Anything that has fillers, Autoglym Super Resin Polish or Poorboys Blackhole, both fantastic.

If it were me I'd go with the poorboys for that colour.

Hi,

I use T-Cut Colorfast by Car Plan (excuse U.S. spelling of colour!). It is suitable for metallic paints and works very well. If you look on the rear of the bottle it shows what range of colours it will work on. Mine is silver and the product has a wide grey/silver spectrum range. If in doubt go for the darker product (black). The other products mentioned are good too but this one works best for me.
Hope this helps,

About half way down in this thread 'Stone Chip Repair', done this to a mates front of the car. Turned out fine if you take your time and got the time to do it .

Could try 'Turtle Wax Colour Magic' as it's full of pigment dyes. But remember to put on a couple of coats of wax to seal it in, or you will be back to sqaure one in a couple of weeks.
