Electric window trouble!

Hi

I've got a 55 plate 1.9D van.
The drivers side window only works when the accelerator pedal isn't pressed. So either decelerating or parked.
I guessed that this might be an earth problem somewhere but I don't know where to start looking!
I assume this is a rare problem and I would like to save on the garage bills so any advice would be greatly received.
