Help! A wiring problem
#1
Can anyone describe the wiring pathway from the rear tailgate window heater to the front of the vehicle? I have a dead short somewhere probably caused by a screw from fixing a pop top roof on. I'm thinking of trying to find where the wire is damaged.

Can you give some Vehicle information
Model, Year etc + your VIN No & RPO Number ( RPO Number Should be on a sticker. Number should start with 09) Mines 09804

First read this link before you d0 anything

I have not got your RPO but this should be something like your vehicle.Refer attached diagrams

The Positive supply (The wire you suspect) is wire 811( Coloured Yellow) From Pin 9 of plug 16v (Black) at the BSI.
It goes into harness 46 HAB at the rear of the vehicle it terminates at the Green Plug 6V The corresponding wire from this plug to the heater is is 811A coloured Black.
The Earth wire to the rear screen is wire M881X (Possibly coloured Yellow/Green) It connects to Earth Point MC80 (Tailgate Earth) This is situated about 6 inches below the rear screen on the RHS

Item 8120 is the heated rear screen.
Item 8110 is the screen switch

Hope this helps let us know how you get on.
