Reverse lights - fuse
#1
Afternoon all

Trying to locate fuse for the reversing lights.
Both lights dont come on, thou have tested bulbs in another socket and they have worked.
Trying to trace down the fuse, pulled out all i seen in the engine bay and in the glove box. Only place not been is the maxi fuse's under the first set in the engine bay.

Can anyone confirm were the reverse fuse is for mk3 berlingo year 2011.
Even better can supply fuse digram for future use.

Thanks

Not sure on the fuse location but you more than likely have a reversing light switch in the gearbox casing, it could be bad connection or duff switch.

Thanks for the info

Sounds like what someone else said earler and not being able to see it on the fuse manual i found. Makes more sense.

Not being to mechanically minded, would that just be something within gear stick mound or somewhere i can physically get to and do myself or best get it put in by some one in the know.

Dont mind having ago first for a £10 part.

It will be mounted in the gearbox casing possibly on top or the back side with 2 wires going to it. Not done one on a modern citroen but it just unscrews and install new one. To test unplug and using a paperclip or bent wire connect wires together and your lights should work.

Why can no one just say the fuse is here

try the engine fuse box No1 @10amp , also for clutch and brake pedal switches and diesel pre heater.

I won't be surprised if its not as there are many variations of fuses and fuse box and fuse positions.

Well, currently, the reversing lights are not using their own fuse alone, they share it with other equipment on the car. This means that for the fuse to be the culprit, you wold also have to have something else failing (like the cruise control, or diesel pre-heater not working...).

The fuse numbers and mapping are stated in the user manuals. Just a matter of taking a quick look, and you know the fuse you are looking for.

For the problem at hand, I found that the switch that is on top of the gearbox was the culprit. A cheap replacement, and reversing lights were working again.

Digging up old thread, but reminded me this was solved, as found with another neighbour with berlingo that the cable was unattached to im guessing the gearbox casing.
Plugged back in all fine Smile
