Best solution to get bluetooth afetermarket
#1
Hi,

I am going to get my new berlingo in a couple of days, unfortunately it was not possible to order bluetooth like a factory option.

So I would like to know which could be the best solution to install bluetooth on my car; could it be possible to buy the original citroen kit t like a spare part and connect it to my car?

Other possible solutions I have found are:

- buy a Parrot device like Mki9000 that allows me to have all connections (like the USB) and to place the the remote unit everywhere I like without any uggly cable around;

- change the radio and to buy some other model that has bluetooth support. In this last option I don't know if I will completely lose display and lever comands.

Could anybody give me some suggestions or personal experices about?

Thanks a lot!

Fabio

First off, mine is a Mark 2, so the following may not apply to you..........

I bought a Sony head unit. I chose this one due to a combination of price, appearance and features. The Bluetooth works perfectly with my phone allowingme to make and receive calls and play music over the car's speakers.

The downsides:-
The steering wheel remotes do not work. This is because the particular model (radio) that I bought does not support these. Whichever radio that I bought I would have needed another wiring harness adaptor.
The MFD does not display audio information. Again for the same reasons as above.

I could have bought a radio that supported all of these functions, but I did not like the appearance of the ones available at the time, they cost considerably more and the wiring harness adaptors are not cheap themselves.

Do plenty of research, I know that when I looked it was bewildering, and be sure of whet you want and what you can do without.
