Air filter box screws
#1
During a service it came to light that the screws which hold on the top of the air filter box (holding the two parts together, not mounting it to the car) on my 2005 2.0L Diesel Desire have been replaced at some point in the past with some that are completely hopeless! It may explain why I've been getting excess engine noise lately.

What size screws should be there? As a stop gap are cable ties a bad idea?

Thanks

[For the record I am pretty sure when and where the dodgy replacement took place but that trader is no longer in business. No idea why they did it!]

Pete sometimes people strip the threads in the airbox so you are best finding some screws and trying different sizes until you get some that work. As for the tie clips (ratchet straps) yes they will do the job as long as you can get them tight enough to make a good seal.
