reversing sensors versus Citreon Electrics??
#1
Hi  My vehicle is Berlingo Multi Space 2009 to which I wish to fit reversing sensors?(Recommended on Forum Dolphin make?)
It appears to me not to be  a problem, simply drill bumper, insert sensors, wire up sensors/buzzer and control panel via reversing lights wiring ,Live brown and ground?
Sensors being activated as and when reverse is selected?
Yet there appears to be many posts stating possible problems with Berlingo wiring to prevent this?

Would someone be good enough to enlighten me as whether or not I could hit a problem? Plus advise if choice of manufacture (Dolphin) is the best.

Thanks Confused

In theory it should be that simple, but the Berlingo used a CANbus system which can over-complicate things a bit. Make sure you get a good schematic before starting.

I thought you just needed to get CANbus compliant sensors? Like if you get Xenon bulbs?

You can get CANbus compliant sensor kits which, if wired into the CANbus would function as per Citroen fitted sensors...in theory.

I think the OP is on about the simple aftermarket ones that you wire into the power feed to the reversing bulb. They then emit a series of beeps which get faster as you get nearer obstructions behind the car.

I'm pretty sure the Dolphin ones are of the latter type which don't require a direct connection to the CANbus, just power from the reversing light, but I might be wrong.
