[Engine] New Berlingo facelift front grill melting!
#1
I've had my new 65' plate Berlingo Enterprise Van in black with a Look Pack since 01/09/15. Had a teething problems....clanking brake pedal which has now been fixed by the dealer after a technical bulletin from Citroen UK. The new DAB Touchscreen has been resetting by itself, but seems to be ok for now. CITROEN say a software update is due however to solve any DAB issues! My driver's door is no way as "soft closing" as the passenger door! No idea how to make it shut smoothly unless I give it s good pull. Now I've noticed just below the CITROEN chevron logo at a central point and just below where the plastic grill intake is....it's starting to warp and almost melt into a bent shape. I assume it's the engine heat once the vehicle is stationary that is causing this! Has anyone else experienced my problems?

Wish I could help, but I'm only here to offer sympathy!
Only Citroen could create such a shambles of a "facelift". Basically, every component "facelifted" is a fiasco! The door closing ought to be a simple adjustment of the striker, but the rest ought to embarrass Citroen. Have they missed out the turbo heat-shield for example?

My van has just turned 3 years old and i toyed with renewing it, but not yet by the look of things.
Basically never, ever, buy version 1 of anything Citroen.
I'm off now to put on my "Mr Grumpy" t-shirt and to remember better times!  Dodgy

Let us know how it goes & whether you invoke the "not fit for purpose" legislation.

Hi Argos! Here's the update........the brakes seem fine and the clanking is no longer there. The Touchscreen is due for the update late October to solve the DAB radio issues and consistent re-booting. The unit is working fine for now, but I was advised not to "play" with it until the new software update. The plastic grill melting/warping.....I actually went back to my dealer to view 6 other brand new unregistered 2105 facelift Berlingo vans......they all have the same appearance as mine and I and the dealer put it down to how the new version is put together in the factory. In other words when the bumper section is compressed together in construction, it tends to cause this very slight warping. I did agree as I couldn't see how 6 other vans exhibited the same appearance. May be they'll alter the construction method as time goes by. You can hardly notice it and I guess seeing that I have the Look Pack which includes coloured body parts, the black gloss is over emphasising the look. As for the door, I've noticed in 3 weeks the closing character of the driver's side door has improved and while not as soft as the passenger door, I'm content for now.

Citroen UK gave me a call today and I explained everything as I have here saying that I'll close the matter for now and just hope the touchscreen update gets sorted as they said it would asap in October.

I totally agree with you saying not to buy a version 1 vehicle from Citroen as seeing this is my 3rd Berlingo with the new shape since 2011 each one has slightly improved so god knows what their new Berlingo Mk 4 will be like in 2017 when I hear its due to be released.

Cheers for getting back me! Wink))))
