Hi, and glad to find you guys!
...I'm expecting to pick up a new BlueHDi 100 XTR in the next week after 8 years driving the highly satisfactory pre-2008 original 'Lingo Multispace. Dunno why Citroen messed with that basic design frankly - the extra 6+in of width (for little interior gain?) seems an instant disadvantage for country lanes and parking…
Was tempted by the Ford Tourneo Connect for £2k more, but turns out it's a similar width so came back to the 'Lingo as the best option. We took a test drive and last week placed an order with the local Citroen dealer - to include a sun roof like the one they'd put in our pre-'08 'Lingo. The salesman claimed he didn't know the price offhand, but we needed to proceed so I paid the £500 deposit on the car. Well, I've just called a sun roof company and apparently the manual sun roof we want costs £295 to install - but it won't fit current Berlingoes (reasons cited: front roof shelf + roof curvature), so we would have to fit an electric tilt & slide model costing £645 !!
I have searched this site but can only find posts about sun roof repair. Can't believe it's not come up as an issue before?
Could have got the whole modutop for that money (if we'd wanted it). Help please anyone - simple sun roof for modern Berlingo?
Thanks for the site, and for any help!
