Seized drive belt tensioner?
#1
Hey guys what is correct way to release tensioner?

2002 berlingo 1.9D power steering no ac

I believe the tensioner is ( as you look down top engine) is sat behind alt top pulley near P/s pump

I get a 15mm spanner on it but all that happens is the nut slackens off on the guide wheel.

Is there another way? Needing the car back on for work today

If it is fubared tensioner are they quick to whip out?

The adjustment is automatic. The whole pulley needs to be swung anti clock to remove the belt. The bracket the pulley is bolted to moves. It has two holes for a pin to fit into just under the pulley., they also show if there is too much stretch in the belt and if needed renewal.

To adjust it is awkward if the 15mm nut comes loose. It is awkward to replace due to lack of room
