2005 2.0 HDI BSI playing up.

Sorry can't help with that I sent mine to BBA but it couldn't be repaired looks like last option will be buying a donor ECU,BSI with key.

So in your case it was the BSI? Did bba say what was wrong with it and why it was irreparable?

Yes my case damaged BSI, I was told by BBA my unit was severely corrupted and unrepairable.

So my options now are 1)get a BSI with matching numbers, swap eeprom and hope, 2)virginize my eeprom, reprogram with lexia, 3) get bsi, virginize, reprogram, 4)send to bba and see if it is salvageable, or 4)new bsi, ecu, and keyboard from matching car.

I've gone with option 4, at least they can give a definitive answer as to if the BSI is at fault, repairable etc.

Sounds like you have some comm lines down in your bsi.  I might be able to help as a last resort. Drop me a PM. Have a look what happen'd to mine.

I spied your fix, very impressed. My electronic knowledge is fairly limited, years of playing guitars in bands and having to fix things with insulating tape and chewing gum! I couldn't see any water damage on the board, and spent a while continuity testing both the tracks on the board and the loom in the car with no apparent faults. I have sent my bsi off today, fingers crossed they can fix it, if not I will definitely take you up on your offer of help.

By the sound of it my bsi is repairable, and I've asked if they can recover the pin code for reprogramming, but due to the corruption they have said it's unlikely. Is there anywhere or anybody who could get this info for me?
