Here's some further images of insulating the van -

                   

(continued from #1) After attaching the foil insulation to the outer panels of the van I used some more to go right across each side and then sealed it with aluminium tape, in theory creating air pockets that would help with insulation. The insulation and tape could also be quite tightly attached around the hole for the light, in theory making it easier to fix it back into place once the carpet was installed.
