hi can anybody out there give me more info on changing the cambelt and is it a big job

Not difficult, a fair amount of work, you need to be a bit of a DIY mechanic, have some tools and a modicum of common sense plus not be too proud to read and then read again a Haynes manual - and make several more reference checks to the manual. How do you fit into this mode ? ( I've done mech eng all my life and still look at the manual ! ).

If you fancy a go then tally ho as there is plenty of advice here !

There is a good write up on here from jimbo regarding a 1.6hdi. Would have thought it to be quite similar, so you can get a good idea on what is involved.

Good write up and the 1.6 looks easier than the 1.9 and 2.0 models especially the tensioning aspect.
